Monsters and other creatures do not use Skills, their abilities being more visceral and part of their form.  Instead, their abilities are described as Instincts.  Every inhuman creature has these Instincts, both positive and negative, and their abilities are built from them.

Characters with the Woodsman ability from the Survival Skill are able to cut valuable (and illegal) organs from Malefic creatures in order to harvest the dark energies within, and in order to do so successfully, the Woodsman must be able to identify which Instincts the creature has.
